HOMECOMING 2024

This Oct. 18-19, Indiana Wesleyan University’s 2024 Homecoming brought our community together in Marion for a weekend full of celebration, connection, and belonging. Traveling from near and far, alumni from across the country joined together for Friday morning’s Homecoming Chapel. As an unapologetically Christ-centered university, it was essential to begin the weekend by gathering to honor the God who makes all things possible. Alumni coming together after years apart to worship God was a powerful opening to the weekend. The service, attended by 3,000 people, was a moment of unity and reflection. During the service, IWU honored five Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients and two Alumni World Changers, recognizing graduates who exemplify the university’s values and whose lives have impacted countless others.
Friday also included the exciting groundbreaking ceremony for the new I AM THIRD Arena. That night also featured the highly anticipated Friday Night Live 30th Anniversary Show. Alumni and current students worked together for months to create the best comedy show they could, their efforts paying off as the auditorium echoed with laughter.
A variety of events occurred throughout the day, including a ceremony to name the baseball field Crandall Field in honor of the Crandall family’s years of dedicated support; the renaming of the Marching Band Practice Facility to Kindley Hall in honor of the contributions of retired faculty member Dr. Carolyn Kindley and her late husband, John; and the inaugural Tailgate Village. Excitement was high as women's volleyball, women’s soccer, and football all went up against tough competition. The weekend culminated with resounding victories for all three teams, including the Wildcat football team, which defeated Grant County rivals Taylor University by a score of 56-7 with over 5,000 fans in attendance!
Riding high from three climactic victories, Homecoming concluded, the energy and camaraderie of the weekend lingering as alumni began their journeys home. This year's Homecoming was truly a time to celebrate, connect, and belong.
