Student Outcomes
Hiring IWU faculty who maintain academic excellence and effective discipleship creates a community of care. Dr. David Davies, Chief Academic Officer, measures the academic success at IWU by the feedback he receives about faculty.
Leadership said “The students talk about the classroom experience, of course, but when they praise faculty, they praise them because of times they sat in their home for dinner or sat across a table at McConn. These personal connections help our students find success inside and outside of the classroom.”

“I studied Illustration at IWU, a discipline which primarily focuses on transforming written stories into visually-compelling narratives. My academic training [here] has been integral as I’ve pursued Digital Marketing. Professor Lowe navigated me through creating stories, translating said stories into universally-accessible visual narratives, and doing so in a clear and compelling manner through technical composition and color theory. He aided my peers and I in discussing business with clients, writing contracts, and building a network of like-minded creatives.
I utilized all of these in my current role as a Digital Marketer. The processes now translate to writing short, compelling posts and articles, designing graphics, and producing video content. The communication tactics established… in our academic exercises have served me exceptionally. Truly, though, what gives my work meaning is the way I am able to faithfully serve God by caring for my clients well, an attitude demonstrated beautifully by Professor Lowe throughout my academic career.”

“IWU taught me for the first time in my life theology and the Bible in context which created a hunger to know and understand as much as I could. Learning about the Bible and theology was formational for me and confirmed my calling.
IWU prepared me through the classroom, benefitting me with knowledge of the Bible and ministry with grounding for my own personal life and sharing in evangelism. I am blessed to have learned the answers to hard questions in my ministry. It made me such an effective missionary. It made me an effective missionary and leader in my ministry.
I would recommend training for missions...discipleship training is good for personal character and spiritual growth, but formal training through IWU will equip you for the long-term vision of a life-long missionary. God’s not in a rush.
He’s not losing ground if you aren’t on the mission field. Take your time. Get trained. IWU will do that for you.”
